Getting started

Choose the solar system, planetarium or stellar neighbourhood. Drag to explore, pinch to zoom and tap a celestial object for its information. Discoveries offer guided journeys. Settings let you change the language and time speed.

Connection and permissions

The main resources are bundled with the iPhone/iPad application. On the web, load the content before using it offline. Place searches and satellite updates require Internet access. Location and motion sensors are optional: you can select a place manually.

Display and compatibility

The website works on phones, tablets and computers with a WebGL-compatible browser. If the scene does not appear, update your browser, check graphics acceleration and reload the page. To slow an animation, adjust the time speed or pause it.

No purchase is needed to explore AstroLab. On the website, you can support Médecins Sans Frontières through our giving page. Donating is optional and does not unlock features. Availability in the installed app depends on its version.
