Scope and maintenance

Cross-cutting functions were reviewed against module code; inventories are regenerated from catalogues on every build. This document aims for detailed coverage without treating each catalogue object as a separate feature. Engine or interface changes must update the relevant descriptions. Cosmic views are evolving in a separate workstream.
