The Moon beyond the same face

Ten days from the North Pole

At Earth’s North Pole, follow the Moon from 25 October to 4 November 2026: its maria shift slightly near the limb while its phase changes. Four seconds represent one day. The disc is tracked at a constant field of view. After this window, the Moon sets: rewind to compare. The ground is illustrative; libration does not reveal the entire far side.

Why explore it?

The lunar surface uses a date-dependent astronomical orientation. Distinguish shifting features, changing phase and varying apparent diameter.
