Day and night
Earth turns beneath the light
The half facing the Sun is illuminated. As Earth rotates, our location moves from that half to the other.
Why explore it?
One rotation relative to the stars takes about 23 h 56 min. It takes a little longer to see the Sun return to the same position because Earth also moves along its orbit.
